I grew up in a small town in Kazakhstan, surrounded by lakes, mountains, forests, and a close-knit family. Looking back, I realize how much that environment shaped me. It taught me to appreciate nature, stay curious, and value the people around me.

At 19, I left home to study English in South East London. It was my first time living abroad and my first experience adapting to a completely different culture. What began as a language course became the start of a journey that took me through Scotland, Singapore, the United States, and now Canada.

Along the way, I studied Computer Science, Public Policy, and User Experience. Each place I lived and each field I studied gave me a different perspective on how people think, learn, communicate, and solve problems.

Today, I work in UX research and design, where I enjoy understanding people’s experiences and turning insights into thoughtful digital products. Whether I’m conducting research, analyzing data, or designing interfaces, I’m most interested in creating technology that is intuitive, useful, and genuinely improves people’s everyday lives.

Aizhan Aliyeva, who goes by Aika, is a curious and collaborative UX researcher and product designer who enjoys turning complex questions into thoughtful, meaningful experiences. She is driven by learning, asking questions, and understanding how people think and make decisions. Academic scholarships and opportunities to study abroad shaped her global perspective and strengthened her passion for research, design, and continuous professional growth.

Aika enjoys taking ownership of projects and working closely with others to transform research findings into clear product direction. She brings thoughtfulness, reliability, and a positive outlook to every team she joins.

Outside of work, Aika enjoys gym workouts, fashion, minimalist interiors, classical music, and visual art, particularly Monet and Kandinsky. She also loves cooking, baking fresh sourdough bread, meditating, playing with her cats, Snow and Kyomi, and spending time with family and friends.
